SUGAR
The play follows Mae through all of the milestones in a girl's life. Her first kiss. Her first business seizure by the authorities. Her first kiss with someone she actually likes (oh god, it's a girl!) Her first job. And eventually her first experience as a sugar baby.
SUGAR explores what it means to win, as well as interrogating where and when women learn the art of self-exploitation. A compelling foray into the mind of someone growing up in today's world, where calculators can be jailbroken and sex work is only a few clicks away.
An irreverent coming of age comedy/drama exploring the stories we tell ourselves and the personas we create to survive.
This witty and piece of fresh new-writing will have you laughing in the moment, and thinking about it for weeks afterward.

This is an electrifying in-person debut from Mabel Thomas. This could, and should, be put on television. I believe Mabel Thomas will be a star. If Sugar is anything to go by, it’s not a question of ‘if’, but ‘when’.
